Elaine is a master’s student studying nightjars in Southern Illinois. Her project will use passive acoustic monitoring to investigate nocturnal bird species like the Eastern Whip-poor-will and the Chuck-will’s-widow. In her free time, she loves to backpack, paddleboard, and cultivate orchids.
